Use of a periodontal resective procedure (proximal wedge technique) for treating gingival and periodontal pockets of mandibular canine teeth in dogs

open access: closedJournal of Small Animal Practice
ObjectivesThis study aims to evaluate the ability of a periodontal resective procedure (the Proximal Wedge Technique) to improve the long‐term health of the mandibular canines by reducing probing depths immediately post‐surgery via targeted tissue recontouring and precise debridement.

Response of Gingival Tissue Irradiated by CO2 Laser Approaching from the Periodontal Pocket Space

open access: bronzeJournal of Japanese Society for Laser Dentistry, 1999

Probiotic Therapy as an Adjuvant in the Treatment of Periodontal Disease: An Innovative Approach [PDF]

open access: yesMedicina
Background and Objectives: Periodontal inflammation, often linked to oral microbiota dysbiosis dominated by pathogenic bacteria, remains a significant challenge in periodontitis management. Traditional periodontal therapies primarily reduce the bacterial

Periodontal evaluation of abutment teeth. Part 2. Correlation between gingival fluid volumes and pH values in gingival crevices and periodontal pockets.

open access: bronzeNihon Hotetsu Shika Gakkai Zasshi, 1987
Being associated with inflammation, the reaction of gingival fluid has been a constant source of interest and it has been the object of many studies. We have paied attention to its pH and reported the difference between in normal crevices and periodontal pockets.

Depressed Oxidative Function in Gingival Crevicular Polymorphonuclear Leukocytes from Porphyromonas gingivalis-detectable Periodontal Pockets.

open access: bronzeNihon Shishubyo Gakkai Kaishi (Journal of the Japanese Society of Periodontology), 1994
The effect of Porphyromonas gingivalis soluble products on the oxidative function of peripheral blood (PB) and gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNLs) was evaluated. PB PMNLs from healthy donors were incubated in vitro with the culture supernatant dialysate (sup) of 4 periodontitis-related bacteria, P.

Efficacy of MMP-8 Level in Gingival Crevicular Fluid to Predict the Outcome of Nonsurgical Periodontal Treatment: A Systematic Review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, 2022
Purpose: To explore whether baseline matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-8 level in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) (exposure) can predict the outcome (reduction in probing pocket depth (PPD) (outcome)) of nonsurgical periodontal therapy (NSPT) (manual or ...

Comparative evaluation of sclerostin levels in gingival crevicular fluid of periodontal health and disease before and after nonsurgical periodontal therapy

open access: yesJournal of Head & Neck Physicians and Surgeons, 2022
Aim: The purpose of this study was to measure the concentration of sclerostin in the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) before and after 1, 3, and 6 weeks of nonsurgical periodontal therapy (NSPT) in subjects with and without chronic periodontitis ...
