An oral contraceptive as an etiologic factor in producing hyperplastic gingivitis and a neoplasm of the pregnancy tumor type

Abstract A case of hyperplastic gingivitis and a neoplasm resembling a pregnancy tumor has been described. The etiologic factor seems to have been an oral contraceptive. It is suggested that the question of whether the patient is taking “the pill” should be included in every periodontal anamnesis.
