On the skewness of the generalized Heawood graphs
By the skewness of a graph, we mean the minimum number of its edges whose deletion results in a planar graph. We determine the skewness of a large family of cubic bipartite graphs (which includes the Heawood graph as a special case).

Dual spheres have the same girth [PDF]
Symplectic and Finsler geometry are used to settle a conjecture of Sch\"affer stating that the girth of a normed space--the infimum of the lengths of all closed, rectifiable, centrally symmetric curves on its unit sphere--equals the girth of its dual.

The girth of a Heegaard splitting
We construct simple curves from immersed curves in the setting of handlebodies and Heegaard splittings. We define a measure of complexity we call girth for closed curves in a handlebody. We extend this complexity to Heegaard splittings and pose a conjecture about all Heegaard splittings. We prove a test case of this conjecture.

Sap flow and reversible stem shrinkage upon water depletion are strongly correlated under extreme drought conditions, but they respond differently to drought and cannot be used interchangeably when assessing tree response to drought. Abstract Temperate mixed forests are currently experiencing severe drought conditions and face increased risk of ...

The role of target populations in resident support for local collaboration
Abstract The characteristics of populations benefiting from collaboration are mostly regarded as contextual factors in collaborative theory and research. Drawing on policy design and distributive justice theories, this study seeks to understand how public support for collaboration varies depending on the characteristics of the target population that ...

In this book, some notions are introduced about “Girth in Neutrosophic Graphs.” Three chapters are devised as “Neutrosophic Girth Based On Crisp Cycle in Neutrosophic Graphs”, “Neutrosophic Girth Based On Neutrosophic Cycle in Neutrosophic Graphs” and “Neutrosophic Girth Polynomial Based On Neutrosophic Cycle and Crisp Cycle in Neutrosophic Graphs ...

Measuring Transaction Costs in Public Sector Contracting Through Machine Learning and Contract Text
ABSTRACT Transaction cost (TC) theoretical constructs are central to research throughout the social sciences, yet key concepts, such as measurability and asset specificity, often defy systematic empirical measurement. In government contracting research, empirical measurements of key TC theoretical constructs are limited to the International City/County
