Correlation between kinematic parameters, ataxia and ground‐to‐lip distance in detomidine sedated horses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 57, Issue 3, Page 798-805, May 2025.
Abstract Background An accurate evaluation of the degree of sedation is mandatory to adjust the dosage of sedative drugs. Objectives To determine the correlation between head height above the ground and ataxia degree in horses sedated with detomidine and the correlation existing between accelerometric variables and both parameters. Study design In vivo

Designing Sortable Guilds for Multispecies Selective Fish Passage

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 26, Issue 3, Page 414-424, May 2025.
ABSTRACT The importance of connectivity for freshwater organisms is widely recognised, yet in‐stream barriers associated with population declines and increased risk of extinction remain globally ubiquitous. Despite their negative consequences, these barriers can protect aquatic communities by limiting the spread of invasive species, leading to ...

The competency of the novel through‐the‐scope suture device for gastric mucosal defects: In vivo study in a porcine model (with video)

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 5, Issue 1, April 2025.
Abstract Objectives Endoscopic closures of mucosal defects following endoscopic resection can be challenging and time‐consuming. The novel through‐the‐scope suture device has demonstrated acceptable closure times, but its learning curve is still unknown.

Catch Data Can Unravel Elasmobranch Aggregation Dynamics and Group Behaviours

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2025.
In this study, we introduce a methodological framework for analyzing catch data to infer aggregation behavior in elasmobranchs. We then demonstrate how to use this framework in a case study of juvenile blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus) in Moorea, French Polynesia, to determine its real‐world application and identify potential limitations.

Progression of patellofemoral joint cartilage degeneration within 1 year after medial meniscus posterior root repair: A retrospective study

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 12, Issue 2, April 2025.
Abstract Purpose To assess postoperative progression of patellofemoral (PF) cartilage degeneration after medial meniscus posterior root (MMPR) repair and identify potential risk factors. Methods Data from patients who underwent transtibial pullout repair for complete radial MMPR tears between April 2018 and October 2021 were retrospectively ...

QC-LDPC Codes Construction by Concatenating of Circulant Matrices as Block-Columns

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information and Communication Technology Research, 2016
In this paper a new low complexity method for constructing binary quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes is introduced. In the proposed method, each block-column of the parity check matrix H is made by a circulant matrix in a way that the ...
