Glacial geomorphology: Towards a convergence of glaciology and geomorphology

Progress in Physical Geography: Earth and Environment, 2010
This review presents a perspective on recent trends in glacial geomorphological research, which has seen an increasing engagement with investigating glaciation over larger and longer timescales facilitated by advances in remote sensing and numerical modelling.

Glacial Geomorphology at Glasgow

Scottish Geographical Journal, 2009
Abstract This paper reviews a century of geographical contributions at the University of Glasgow to the development of glacial geomorphology. Significant advances were made from the 1960s, when geographers and topographic scientists began to combine geomorphic and survey expertise in accurately charting spatial and temporal changes in Icelandic glacier

Buried Glacial Geomorphology

1982
Most glacial deposits are made of different materials deposited at different times. The surface of the latest deposit is the present land surface — the present geomorphology. The surface of each buried deposit is a surface of paleogeomorphology, either entirely depositional, entirely erosional, or partly of each.

Glacial geomorphology and geographic information systems

Earth-Science Reviews, 2007
Recent developments in the field of glacial geomorphology have dramatically increased the need to acquire, maintain, manipulate, and analyze large amounts of landform, landscape and sediment data. The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has provided new platforms and tools for analysis and visualization of geomorphic data.
