Enhanced rock-slope failure following ice-sheet deglaciation : timing and causes [PDF]
This research was supported by NERC Cosmogenic Isotope Analysis Facility [Grant Number: 9046.0308]The temporal pattern of rock-slope failures (RSFs) following Late Pleistocene deglaciation on tectonically stable terrains is controversial: previous ...

Abstract Holocene relative sea level (RSL) changes were reconstructed from four sites along the less‐studied southern Solway Firth. A multiproxy approach, including lithostratigraphical and biostratigraphical analyses, combined with radiocarbon dating, produced ten sea level index points (SLIPs).

ABSTRACT Land degradation poses significant challenges to maintaining food–water–energy (FWE) security, particularly in rapidly urbanizing regions. The ecosystem services (ES) related to FWE are critical for sustainable regional development. Yet, rapid urbanization in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region has altered land use and ecological patterns ...

Inventory and GLOF susceptibility of glacial lakes in Chenab basin, Western Himalaya
Global warming causes glacial mass loss, leading to the growth of high-mountain glacial lakes. The presence of glacial lakes poses a significant threat to downstream communities, as they can produce destructive Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs ...

Glacial geomorphology of the Chirripó National Park, Costa Rica
Several regions of tropical America show imprints of past glacial activity. These relict landforms can support the understanding of past climate conditions, such as during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), and the implications that these paleoclimatic ...

A Glacial Geomorphological Map of Victoria Island, Canadian Arctic [PDF]
Victoria Island lies at the north-western extremity of the region covered by the vast North American Laurentide Ice Sheet (LIS) in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. This area is significant because it linked the interior of the LIS to the Arctic Ocean, probably via a number of ice streams.

A last glacial ice sheet on the Pacific Russian coast and catastrophic change arising from coupled ice–volcanic interaction [PDF]
Controversy exists over the extent of glaciation in Eastern Asia at the Last Glacial Maximum: complete ice sheet cover vs. restricted mountain icefields (an area discrepancy equivalent to 3.7 Greenland Ice Sheets).

Precision Restoration to Minimize Soil Loss in a Watershed in the Atlantic Forest Domain
ABSTRACT The Turvo River Watershed, located in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais and part of the Doce River Basin, faces serious problems of erosion and soil degradation, which compromise and reduce the quality of local water resources. Given this scenario, it is essential to implement environmental recovery strategies that prioritize the ...
