Exploring Contrastive Representation for Weakly-Supervised Glacial Lake Extraction

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Against the background of the ongoing atmospheric warming, the glacial lakes that are nourished and expanded in High Mountain Asia pose growing risks of glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) hazards and increasing threats to the downstream areas ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

A Systematic Extraction Approach for Mapping Glacial Lakes in High Mountain Regions of Asia

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2018
Glacial lakes are highly sensitive indicators of global climate change. The accurate extraction of glacial lakes from image data is of great importance to the evaluation of the hydrological environment in high mountain regions.

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Forewarning Model for Glacial Lake Outburst in Southeast Tibet

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The southeast region of Tibet experiences frequent glacial lake outburst disasters, and disaster warning systems are thus crucial for disaster prevention and mitigation in the area.

Changes in Imja Tsho in the Mount Everest Region of Nepal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Imja Tsho, located in the Sagarmatha ( Everest) National Park of Nepal, is one of the most studied and rapidly growing lakes in the Himalayan range. Compared with previous studies, the results of our sonar bathymetric survey conducted in September of ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Combined use of multi-source satellite imagery and deep learning for automated mapping of glacial lakes in the Bhutan Himalaya

open access: yesScience of Remote Sensing
Himalayan glacial lakes have been rapidly developing and expanding in recent decades under climate change and glacier mass loss. These growing glacial lakes can produce glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) events with far-reaching and devastating ...

Mapping Area Changes of Glacial Lakes Using Stacks of Optical Satellite Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Glacial lakes are an important and dynamic component of terrestrial meltwater storage, responding to climate change and glacier retreat. Although there is evidence of rapid worldwide growth of glacial lakes, changes in frequency and magnitude of glacier ...
