Multiproxy Chronologies of the Hurd Rock Glacier (Livingston Island, South Shetland Islands, Maritime Antarctica): Between the Late‐Stage Stabilization and Flow Deceleration

open access: yesPermafrost and Periglacial Processes, Volume 37, Issue 3, Page 535-550, July/September 2026.
ABSTRACT The Hurd Rock Glacier, located on Livingston Island (South Shetland Islands archipelago, Maritime Antarctica), is a tongue‐shaped feature composed of angular boulders, displaying transverse ridges and furrows, and featuring lobate structures, which are more prominently developed in its frontal sector.

Elevation‐Dependent Permafrost Thaw on the Tibetan Plateau Delays Seasonal Discharge and Poses a Risk of Reduction in Downstream Water Availability

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Global warming and permafrost thaw have significantly altered landscapes and hydrological conditions in permafrost regions. While site‐specific process studies have described hydrological changes during thawing, basin‐scale impact assessments and streamflow modeling remain challenging due to landscape heterogeneity and complex interactions ...

A Transient Coastal Uplift Event Revealed by Pleistocene Marine Terraces Along the 2015 M8.3 Illapel Earthquake Rupture, Chile

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Uplifted Pleistocene marine terraces in the Illapel area along the forearc of central Chile record spatially and temporally variable uplift rates on glacial‐cycle timescales. However, the underlying mechanisms for this uplift variability and its potential relationship with the megathrust‐earthquake cycle remain poorly understood.

Temporal Evolution of Coastal Cliffs From Weekly to Interannual Timescales

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract A 7‐year coastal cliff erosion record, developed from 320 ∼weekly LiDAR surveys of a 2.3 km‐long cliff in southern California, is used to examine the cliff geomorphological response to the variability of environmental forcing (water level, waves, rain, and groundwater) from weekly to interannual timescales at different cliff elevations.

Morphological Dating of Fluvial Terrace Risers Across Spatial and Temporal Scales

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Fluvial terraces are valuable terrestrial records of past climatic and tectonic changes. Morphological dating, which quantifies the degradation of the riser between two terraces, offers a relatively simple and cost‐effective alternative to other dating methods.

Riparian Processing of Upland Groundwaters Strongly Influences Downstream Transport and Channel Emission of Dissolved Inorganic Carbon Along Agricultural Stream Corridors

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Headwater streams gain groundwater carrying dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) from terrestrial environments and are hotspots for biogeochemical processing. The Judith River Watershed is located in a semi‐arid region of the northern Great Plains in central Montana, where stream corridors have spatial variation in hydrological connectivity among ...
