The Glacial Till of Fair Isle, Shetland

Geological Magazine, 1970
SummaryReddish-brown glacial till containing millet seed sand grains occurs on Fair Isle, Shetland. Both the colour and the millet seed grains may have come from Permo-Triassic sandstones on the sea floor in the neighbourhood of Fair Isle, since the Devonian rocks of the area are not often red and do not give rise to till containing millet seed grains.

Textural and Lithological Variations in Glacial Till

The Journal of Geology, 1933
Till samples were collected from the Valparaiso moraine around the southern end of Lake Michigan, and along a line paralleling glacial movement from Chicago south. The samples were analyzed, and. the pebbles classified according to lithology. In the Valparaiso moraine the mechanical composition was influenced by a loading of the ice with surficial ...

GLACIAL LANDFORMS, SEDIMENTS | Till Fabric Analysis

2007
Till fabric analysis concerns the collection and processing of data on the orientation of particles in till deposits. The most commonly made fabric measurements are the azimuth (compass bearing) and dip of particle long axes (L- or a-axes), although other fabric elements (e.g., c-axis, polished facets, or fractured lee faces) also provide useful ...
