High‐elevation endemic plants predicted to lose habitat from changing climate in Washington State
Abstract Premise High‐elevation plants face unique challenges from potential climate change impacts that will likely require upslope migration into increasingly smaller suitable habitat. This situation is particularly acute for endemic species that by definition occupy small geographic ranges.

The Flow of Glaciers in the Khumbu Region
The results of measurements of the surface velocity of the glaciers in the Khumbu region showed that the surface velocity underwent a seasonal variation in the upper parts of the ablation area of the Khumbu and the Nuptse glaciers, that is, the velocity from May to August was higher than that of the rest of the year.

Glacier microseismicity is a promising tool to study glacier dynamics. However, physical processes connecting seismic signals and ice dynamics are not clearly understood at present.

Abstract Premise The species‐rich flora of Tropical Andes underwent multiple rapid and recent diversifications, yet resolving their evolutionary histories remains challenging despite increasing phylogenomic data. Here, we examined phylogenomic conflict in Brachyotum (Melastomataceae) to identify sources preventing its resolution.

Dynamic Characteristics of Suspended Load and Bed Load Transport in Meltwater Runoff of Qiyi Glacier
[Objective] The transportation of sediment via glacial meltwater can not only reflect the glacial erosion and landform evolution, but also is one of the important sediment sources for the downstream river.

Abstract The Pleistocene is a key period for understanding the evolutionary history and palaeobiogeography of the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). The species was first documented in southeastern Iberia at the beginning of the Middle Pleistocene and appears to have rapidly spread throughout Southwestern Europe, where it was found in numerous ...

Factors controlling the accelerated expansion of Imja Lake, Mount Everest region, Nepal
This study explores the link between area increase of Imja Tsho (Lake) and changes of Imja Glacier (area ~25km2) under the influence of climate change using multitemporal satellite imagery and local climate data. Between 1962 and 2013, Imja Lake expanded

Analysis of ‘hummocky moraine’ using Structure-from-Motion photogrammetry [PDF]
This study presents results of a high-resolution topographic survey of the proglacial area of Austre Lovénbreen, Svalbard. Structure-from-Motion (SfM) was used to generate a digital elevation model (DEM) of the proglacial zone from aerial imagery. This

Abstract As habitat salinity markedly differs between the endangered, freshwater‐dwelling Saimaa ringed seal (Pusa saimensis Nordquist, 1899) and the brackish water‐inhabiting Baltic ringed seal (Pusa hispida botnica Gmelin, 1788), we investigated whether this difference has resulted in morphological changes to their kidneys.

Glacierized headwater streams as aquifer recharge corridors, subarctic Alaska
Arctic river discharge has increased in recent decades although sources and mechanisms remain debated. Abundant literature documents permafrost thaw and mountain glacier shrinkage over the past decades. Here we link glacier runoff to aquifer recharge via
