Arabidopsis inositol polyphosphate kinase activities regulate COP9 deneddylation functions in phosphate homeostasis

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Plant phosphate (Pi) homeostasis relies on coordinated activities of the inositol polyphosphate kinases IPK1 and ITPK1, which balance localized InsP7 biosynthesis to control COP9 signalosome (CSN)‐dependent deneddylation of cullin 1 (CUL1). Perturbation of this equilibrium affects the stability of SPX4, a key negative regulator of phosphate starvation ...

Climate‐driven niche filtering limits post‐dispersal establishment and genomic introgression in a riverine shrub

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Integrated biogeographic analysis and macroecological insights reveal that habitat differences drive genetic differentiation Debregeasia orientalis C. J. Chen, a dominant riparian shrub distributed across multiple biodiversity hotspots, and different lineages vary greatly in adaptability to future climate.

PtoHY5 integrates photoperiodic signals with the ABA pathway to coordinate growth cessation and dormancy in Populus

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
In Populus, short days deactivate the growth‐promoting protein PtoHY5, turning off a growth accelerator and activating an abscisic acid‐driven brake. This directly couples growth cessation with dormancy, underscoring the role of abscisic acid in synchronizing these transitions for winter survival.

The XenCart Protocol: A method for Alcian blue labeling and quantitative analysis of craniofacial cartilage in Xenopus

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
The XenCart Protocol provides a reproducible way to visualize and quantify how the developing craniofacial skeleton responds to experimental perturbation. Embryos are exposed to defined conditions, craniofacial cartilage is stained with Alcian blue, imaged, and analyzed morphometrically.
