Recent trends in melting conditions on the Antarctic Peninsula and their implications for ice-sheet mass balance and sea level [PDF]
Long-term records from meteorological stations on the Antarctic Peninsula show strong rising trends in the annual duration of melting conditions. In each case, the trend is statistically significant and represents a major increase in the potential for ...

Glaciers and their changes through time are increasingly obtained from a wide range of satellite sensors. Due to the often remote location of glaciers in inaccessible and high-mountain terrain, satellite observations frequently provide the only available

Recent glacial recession in the Rwenzori Mountains of East Africa due to rising air temperature
Based on field surveys and analyses of optical spaceborne images (LandSat5, LandSat7), we report recent decline in the areal extent of glaciers in the Rwenzori Mountains of East Africa from 2.01 +/- 0.56 km(2) in 1987 to 0.96 +/- 0.34 km(2) in 2003.

DEM Generation from Multi Satellite PlanetScope Imagery
Planet Labs have recently launched a large constellation of small satellites (3U cubesats) capable of imaging the whole Earth landmass everyday. These small satellites capture multiple images of an area on consecutive days or sometimes on the same day ...

7000 Years of Aboriginal Mining at Sugarloaf Hill in the Riverland Region of South Australia
ABSTRACT Silcrete and chert are commonly represented in Aboriginal archaeological lithic assemblages across large parts of the southwestern Murray‐Darling Basin (MDB). In South Australia (SA), these materials were sourced from a series of quarries located along the incised course of the Murray River through the upper Riverland region.

Scottish late-glacial moraines: debris supply, genesis and significance
A variety of moraine forms were deposited by glaciers during the Loch Lomond Stadial. Study of such moraines and related landforms provides a valuable source of data on patterns of landscape evolution and climatic change. This thesis presents detailed

ABSTRACT The intestinal epithelium and its resident microbiota form a dynamic interface that is central to gut homeostasis, but this interface is difficult to model with conventional tools. Static Transwell cultures lack physiological fluid shear, whereas animal models are costly and poorly suited to quantitative, high‐content imaging.

ABSTRACT The recent clinical adoption of cell therapies has increased the need for more efficient, robust, and reproducible manufacturing technologies. Human mesenchymal stromal cells (hMSCs), a major component of the cell and immunotherapeutic market, remain challenging to manufacture at scale because they require surface attachment and are highly ...
