Hydraulic and mechanical properties of glacial sediments beneath Unteraargletscher, Switzerland: implications for glacier basal motion [PDF]
The force on a ‘ploughmeter’ and subglacial water pressure have been measured in the same borehole at Unteraargletscher, Switzerland, in order to investigate ice–sediment coupling and the motion at the base of a soft-bedded glacier.

Englacial Pore Water Localizes Shear in Temperate Ice Stream Margins [PDF]
The margins of fast‐moving ice streams are characterized by steep velocity gradients. Some of these gradients cannot be explained by a temperature‐dependent viscosity alone.

Sub-debris melt rates on southern Inylchek Glacier, central Tian Shan [PDF]
Melt rates of glacier surfaces are strongly influenced by the existence of a debris cover. Dependent on thickness and other physical parameters the debris layer can enhance or reduce ablation as compared to bare ice conditions.

Grounding‐Zone Flow Variability of Priestley Glacier, Antarctica, in a Diurnal Tidal Regime
Tidal modulation of ice streams and their adjacent ice shelves is a real‐world experiment to understand ice‐dynamic processes. We observe the dynamics of Priestley Glacier, Antarctica, using Terrestrial Radar Interferometry (TRI) and GNSS.

This paper explores the potential of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) monitoring for an advanced understanding of snow cover processes and structure. For this purpose, the study uses the Hansbreen (SW Spitsbergen) records that are among the longest and the

Stable-isotope ratios (δ18O and δD) in a firn core from West Antarctica [PDF]
A 22.48 m long ice core (BR-IC-4) was collected in the West Antarctic Ice Sheet (at 83°58’59.4” S, 80°07’01.4” W, 1,295 m above the sea level) during the Austral summer of 2004–2005, as a contribution to the International Trans-Antarctic Expedition ...
