Secreting Glandular Trichomes: More than Just Hairs [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1991
Secreting glandular plant trichome types which accumulate large quantities of metabolic products in the space between their gland cell walls and cuticle permit the plant to amass secretions in a compartment that is virtually outside the plant body. These structures not only accumulate and store what are often phytotoxic oils but they position these ...

Resilience of floral scent emission after florivory

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 1491-1506, August 2026.
Florivory is thought to affect floral traits, impacting pollination. However, our data suggest a stability in post‐florivory scent emission, which may guarantee the maintenance of pollinator visitation regardless of florivory, indicating a resilience of natural systems with multiple and simultaneous interactions. Trichomes morphology and density analysis in some "Nepeta" species of Iran

open access: yesMediterranean Botany, 2018
Nepeta are widely distributed worldwide and in different parts of Iran where seventy-nine species were registered. The essential oil of these aromatic plants, which accumulates and secrets by trichomes, has been used in medicinal and industrial products.

Morphology of glandular trichome and lignin-based structure for its function

open access: yesFundamental Research
Glandular trichomes play critical roles in plant defense, pollination, and environmental adaptation through the synthesis, storage, and secretion of a diverse range of compounds, including specialized metabolites and inorganic compounds.

Intergeneric Comparison of Staminal Trichomes in the Tribe Ipomoeeae (Convolvulaceae)

open access: yesPlants
Hairs or trichomes distributed on the base of filaments in the morning glory family, known as staminal trichomes, differ from those found on other plant parts and have been recognized for their taxonomic value for over a century.

HISTOCHEMISTRY AND MICROMORPHOLOGICAL DIVERSITY OF GLANDULAR TRICHOMES IN Melissa officinalis L. LEAF EPIDERMIS

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum: Hortorum Cultus, 2016
Due to the presence of glandular trichomes in their epidermis and production of essential oils, plants from the family Lamiaceae, including Melissa officinalis L., are commonly cultivated in most European countries and across Poland.
