Evaluating the mechanical properties of E-Glass fiber/carbon fiber reinforced interpenetrating polymer networks

open access: yesPolímeros, 2015
A series of vinyl ester and polyurethane interpenetrating polymer networks were prepared by changing the component ratios of VER (Vinyl ester) and PU (Polyurethane) and the polymerization process was confirmed with Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Microstructural investigation of glass fiber reinforced polymer bars [PDF]

open access: yesComposites Part B: Engineering, 2017
Abstract Microstructural characteristics are crucial in understanding and predicting the behavior of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars used for concrete reinforcement. Considering the lack of extensive GFRP microstructural knowledge, the main purpose of this study is to provide a documentation of GFRP microstructure and demonstrate its ...
