Flexural Behaviors of Glass Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Reinforced Engineered Cementitious Composite Beams

ACI Materials Journal, 2002
Broad applications of fiber-reinforced polymer reinforcement are hindered by its elastic brittle behavior, resulting in reduced structural ductility. In addition, due to the lower modulus of elasticity, serviceability considerations such as deflection and crack width control present serious challenges to designers.

Glass Fiber Reinforced-Polymer (GFRP) Bar Reinforced Concrete Deck Slab: Strength and Serviceability

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
This paper presents the study on GFRP bar reinforced concrete bridge deck that is designed as typical one-way concrete slab. Parametric study of deck thickness, girder spacing, and environmental reduction factor was performed, on the basis of requirements per ACI 440.1R-06 guideline, from which the results show that design of GFRP RC deck is controlled

In-Situ Performance Evaluation of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Dowel Bars

Proceedings of the International Conference on Concrete Pavements
Dowel bars have an important role in the performance and longevity of a Jointed Plain Concrete Pavement (JPCP) by providing a load transfer system at concrete joints. However, the commonly used epoxy-coated bars are susceptible to corrosion due to manufacturing and handling imperfections.
