Production of Xenopus tropicalis Egg Extracts to Identify Microtubule-associated RNAs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Many organisms localize mRNAs to specific subcellular destinations to spatially and temporally control gene expression. Recent studies have demonstrated that the majority of the transcriptome is localized to a nonrandom position in cells and embryos. One

Differential negative dominance by KCNA2 variants associated with global developmental delay suggests KCNA2 haploinsufficiency in humans

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Potassium‐selective KV1.2 channels are encoded by the KCNA2 gene and regulate electrical signalling in neurons. KCNA2 genetic variants are associated with epileptic and developmental encephalopathy. We characterized two variants that subtly alter the channel's amino acid composition, p.H310D and p.G318D.

PROTEINS OF PAROTOID GLAND SECRETIONS FROM TOADS OF THE GENUS BUFO [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Freeze-dried parotoid gland secretions from toads of the genus Bufo contained large proportions of protein (25-35% by weight). SDS-PAGE suggested that secretions from several species of Bufo contained mixtures of proteins in the relative molecular mass ...
