UCST‐Responsive PMEGA: From Solution Behavior to Functional Hydrogel Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
PMEGA is used as a versatile water‐based UCST‐responsive platform for engineering microstructured hydrogel coatings via a thiol–ene CLAG approach. From PMEGAs of well‐defined UCST properties, the UV‐based CLAG method provides precise control over film thickness, ranging from nanometers to micrometers, and enables high‐resolution patterning.

Adsorbent Materials for Hydrocarbons Removal by Geopolymerization of Halloysite Clay Nanotubes Filled Within Chitosan Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Alkaline activation of halloysite clay nanotubes embedded in a chitosan matrix converts bionanocomposite films into porous geopolymeric materials with enhanced adsorption capacity toward hydrocarbons in both vapor and aqueous phases. The improved adsorption performance was demonstrated by the efficient capture of dodecane vapors and phenol from water ...

Eutectic Gallium‐Indium as a Potential Non‐Toxic Replacement in Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A practical alternative to mercury intrusion porosimetry is presented using non‐oxidized eutectic gallium‐indium. An eGaIn Filling Station enables oxygen‐free preparation of standard penetrometers, and the resulting measurements faithfully reproduce pore‐size distributions and intrusion volumes measured with mercury across several standard reference ...
