Processes for silica glass powder sintering
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1989Abstract Processes for silica glass powder sintering have been investigated in order to obtain glass-ceramics materials with definite physico-chemical properties. The influence of additions (BN and BPO 4 ) on the mechanism of sintering and structure of silica glass ceramics has been studied using X-ray diffraction, IR-spectroscopy, optical and ...

Powder Metallurgically Produced Metal—Glass Composites
Powder Metallurgy, 1984Abstract Composite materials can be produced by PM means. If both components can be deformed, an atomic bond is formed between the new surfaces generated. The structure, properties, and technological applications of metal-glass composites are illustrated by the Al-glass system.

This chapter describes glass powder elution of DNA as an alternative to electroelution for purifying fragments from agarose gel pieces. The gel is dissolved in NaI, and the DNA is specifically bound to glass powder. The bound DNA is washed to remove impurities and is subsequently eluted from the glass in a low-salt buffer.

Silver–Alloy Powder and Glass Ionomer Cement
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1990This article examines some physical property improvements made when a spherical silver alloy powder is added to a hydrous, restorative (type II) glass ionomer cement. When this first metal-reinforced glass ionomer cement is handmixed thickly and quickly, physical properties and clinical handling are improved.

Hydrostatic pressing of glass powder materials
Glass and Ceramics, 1995Hydrostatic pressing of powdered glass makes it possible to prepare sintered high-density specimens from glass of any crystallizability. The mechanical and electrical strengths of the specimens considerably exceed the analogous characteristics of materials obtained by pressing in metallic molds and sintered at the same temperature.

Synthesis of glass nanocomposite powders
2020The aim of the present study was to synthesize CaO·GeO2 nanocomposite poweders glasses. The sample were prepared to 1450°C°. To investigate the structure of the samples, Differential Thermal Analysis (DSC), X-ray diffraction and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy were used. The main crystallising phase was found to be CaGe205 crystals.

Fabrication of glass components by sintering of commercial glass powder
Ceramics International, 2015Abstract In this work, plasma display panel (PDP) glass bodies were prepared by pressureless sintering (PLS) and hot isostatic pressing (HIP). The effects of consolidation conditions including sintering temperature, sintering atmosphere, and HIP variables on final properties were investigated.
