Leaching model of nuclear waste glass.

Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1986
The three-dimensional spherical leaching model was developed on the basis of the experimental results for nuclear waste glass. Emphasis was placed on proposing a model for the growth of surface layers and for an immobilized reaction inside these layers.

From waste glass to building materials – An innovative sustainable solution for waste glass

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2018
Abstract This report details a cost-effective new process for transforming mixed waste glass into high-value building materials without remelting. Worldwide, waste glass is a growing burden and new options are urgently needed for the large volumes of speciality, mixed, broken and contaminated glass that cannot currently be recycled.

Optimisation of sintered glass–ceramics from an industrial waste glass

Ceramics International, 2010
Abstract Industrial plasma melting of municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerator fly ashes leads to a glass that may be easily crystallised to gehlenite glass–ceramics, by the sintering of fine glass powders. However, since the glass composition is not optimised for glass–ceramic manufacturing, the viscous flow is much hindered by a very significant ...

Application of an Industrial Waste Glass in “Glass–Ceramic Stoneware”

International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, 2011
Vitrified inorganic wastes are often converted into glass–ceramics; although these products exhibit interesting properties, the processing is quite complex and expensive. This paper reports an alternative approach, based on substituting traditional feldspar fluxes in stoneware with a CaO–Al 2

Sintered glass-ceramics from waste inert glasses

2003
The production of sintered glass-ceramics and glass-ceramic matrix composite materials could be a promising way to re-evaluate the inert glass from the vitrification treatment of industrial sludges. A processing route for the production of sintered glass-ceramics (sinter-crystallization) was optimised in function of sintered density and microhardness ...
