Electron microscopy data on irradiation effects in glassy carbon, nuclear graphite, pyrolytic carbon, and carbon fibersMendeley Data [PDF]

open access: yesData in Brief
Glassy carbon, a monoatomic allotrope of carbon, is a candidate material for components in fission nuclear power systems due to its radiation tolerance.

Pyrolyzed Ultrasharp Glassy Carbon Microneedles. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Eng Mater, 2022
Polymeric microneedles fabricated via two‐photon polymerization (2PP) lithography enable safe medical access to the inner ear. Herein, the material class for 2PP‐lithography‐based microneedles is expanded by pyrolyzing 2PP‐fabricated polymeric microneedles, resulting in glassy carbon microneedles.

Electrowetting on glassy carbon substrates. [PDF]

open access: yesNanoscale Adv
Electrowetting on a glassy carbon substrate is demonstrated. The process is irreversible, in contrast to earlier observations of reversible wetting seen with basal plane graphite.

Ultrastable halide perovskite CsPbBr3 photoanodes achieved with electrocatalytic glassy-carbon and boron-doped diamond sheets [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
Halide perovskites exhibit exceptional optoelectronic properties for photoelectrochemical production of solar fuels and chemicals but their instability in aqueous electrolytes hampers their application.

Effect of glassy carbon properties on the electrochemical deposition of platinum nano-catalyst and its activity for methanol oxidation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2007
The effects of the properties of glassy carbon on the deposition of platinum particles and the electrocatalytic activity of platinum supported on glassy carbon (GC/Pt) for methanol oxidation in alkaline and acidic solutions were studied.

Tubular glassy carbon microneedles with fullerene-like tips for biomedical applications

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2022
Glassy carbon, in general, is made by the pyrolysis of polymeric materials and has been the subject of research for at least fifty years. However, as understanding its microstructure is far from straightforward, it continues to be an area of active ...

Electrochemical Oxidation of 2,5-Dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole on Carbon Electrodes Modified with Ru(III) Schiff Base Complex [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji, 2021
The thiol compound 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole is a potential cathode material. The redox reactions of the mentioned thiol compound are slow at room temperature but can be enhanced using electron transfer mediators.

Negative magnetoresistance in glassy carbon [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Magazine B, 1983
Abstract The magnetoresistance of glassy carbon, heat treated for 3 hours between 1200 and 2700°C, has been measured at temperatures from 3 to 100 K in magnetic fields of up to 5 T. The magnetoresistance is generally negative and saturated with reciprocal temperature, but still increases as a function of magnetic field.

Effect of support on power output of ethanol/O2 biofuel cell [PDF]

open access: yesNanochemistry Research, 2017
Enzymatic biofuel cells have many great usages as a small power source for medical and environmental applications. In this paper, we employed carboxylated multiwall carbon nanotube- (1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis (trifluoromethyl sulfonyl) imide) ionic

Potentiodynamic fabrication and characterization of poly(4-amino-3-hydroxynaphthalene sulfonic acid) modified glassy carbon electrode

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
Electropolymerization technique is an effective to control the thickness of the conducting polymer film. Poly (4-amino-3-hydroxynaphthalene sulfonic acid), as polymer of aniline derivative, synthesized potentiodynamically on surface of glassy carbon ...
