Attention Based Glaucoma Detection: A Large-scale Database and CNN Model [PDF]
Recently, the attention mechanism has been successfully applied in convolutional neural networks (CNNs), significantly boosting the performance of many computer vision tasks. Unfortunately, few medical image recognition approaches incorporate the attention mechanism in the CNNs.

Review on enhancing clinical decision support system using machine learning
Abstract Clinical decision‐making is a complex patient‐centred process. For an informed clinical decision, the input data is very thorough ranging from detailed family history, environmental history, social history, health‐risk assessments, and prior relevant medical cases.

Abstract As the main loading‐bearing tissue of eye, sclera exerts an important role in the pathophysiology of glaucoma. Intraocular pressure (IOP) generates mechanical strain on sclera. Recent studies have demonstrated that sclera, especially the peripapillary sclera, undergoes complicated remodelling under the mechanical strain.

Management of complications in glaucoma surgery
Surgical option for glaucoma is considered when other modalities are not working out to keep the intraocular pressure under control. Since the surgical procedures for glaucoma disrupt the integrity of the globe, they are known to produce various complications. Some of those complications can be vision-threatening.

Micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS): a review of surgical procedures using stents
Over the last decade several novel surgical treatment options and devices for glaucoma have been developed. All these developments aim to cause as little trauma as possible to the eye, to safely, effectively, and sustainably reduce intraocular pressure ...

The effect of advancing age and intraocular pressure injury on retinal ganglion cell function and synaptic connectivity. While young mice modulate their synaptic input to recover retinal ganglion cell function following injury, older mice compensate by altering their action potential threshold and axon initial segment (AIS) length to increase intrinsic

Background The effect of cataract surgery on IOP in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is a subject of debate. We investigated the effect of cataract surgery by phacoemulsification on intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with medically ...
