Treatment of Uveitis and Outcomes of Glaucoma Drainage Implant Surgery: A Meta-Analysis
Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, 2019We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the effect of uveitis treatment on glaucoma drainage implant surgical outcomes. We included 16 articles in the meta-analysis. Two groups were defined based on medical therapy of uveitis: Group 1: poorly controlled uveitis, and Group 2: well-controlled uveitis including use of immunomodulatory medications. The two ...

AbstractGlaucoma surgery and uveitis (course) Management of uveitis glaucoma requires careful diagnosis and managment of both uveitis and glaucoma. Before deciding surgery it is essential to identify the mechanisms of IOP elevation and to differentiate secondary open angle glaucoma, secondary angle closure glaucoma with or without pupillary block.

Impact of glaucoma surgery on recurrence rate in cytomegalovirus anterior uveitis

Anterior uveitis and secondary glaucoma resulting from intraocular ointment has not been reported. The advent of small-incision surgery has likely reduced the incidence of this complication to low levels. We report a case of anterior uveitis after small-incision cataract surgery due to an intraocular ointment base.

We report a case of postoperative uveitis-glaucome-hyphema (UGH) syndrome following pediatric cataract surgery due to posterior chamber intraocular lens (PC-IOL). Slit-lamp examination revealed the optic of PC-IOL migrated into anterior chamber. The PC-IOL explantation was performed and ocular inflammation subsided.
