Chorioretinal Folds Following Glaucoma Valve Implantation
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1998Abstract. Glaucoma valve implants have been observed to cause scleral indentation and flattening. The authors report the case of a 79-year-old woman who had previously undergone glaucoma valve implantation, and who subsequently developed chorioretinal folds that corresponded to the implant in location and configuration. Accumulation of fluid behind the

Surgical Results of Ahmed Glaucoma Valve Implantation in One-chamber Eyes
Journal of glaucoma, 2021Precis: Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation in eyes with damaged iris-lens diaphragms (“1-chamber” eyes) resulted in mean intraocular pressure (IOP) and antiglaucoma medications decreases of 66% and 59 ...

Novel Micromachined Valved Glaucoma Drainage Devices
2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006In this work two novel valve devices are proposed for treatment of glaucoma. By opening or closing, the proposed valves can be used to reduce high pressures in the eye (hypertony), or prevent low pressures in the eye (hypotony) respectively. These devices work based on the buckling of fluid channel connected to the anterior chamber of the eye.

Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation in uveitic glaucoma versus open-angle glaucoma patients
Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2008The poor long-term success rate of repeat trabeculectomies in refractory uveitic glaucoma (UG) patients has led to the use of glaucoma drainage devices (GDDs). However, the success and complication rates of GDDs in UG patients utilizing a control group with standard demographic data, design, and surgical technique have never been evaluated.Fifteen ...

Results of Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation in primary congenital glaucoma
Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2014To evaluate the outcome of Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation in primary congenital glaucoma (PCG).The medical records of patients with PCG refractory to trabeculotomy and medical therapy who had undergone AGV implantation with a minimum follow-up of 6 months were retrospectively reviewed.
