The Application of Colemanite Addition to Floor Tile Glazes
2001Colemanite ore, a berate mineral, has been used in ceramic glaze recipes due to its low melting point, low solubility and its smoothness on unleaded glazes. In this study, colemanite was added at 2%-10% to a standard glaze recipe and six different recipe samples, including the standard recipe, were preoared.

The Use of Roof Tile Wastes in Stoneware Glazes
2014In this study usability of roof tile waste, which emerges after production in a roof tile factory in Turkey-Eskisehir, as glaze raw material has been analyzed. Terracotta roof tile wastes' chemical (XRF) and mineralogical (XRD), dilatometer and thermal microscopy analyses, grain size distribution, and color and melting characteristics at 1160 degrees C

Hardness and microhardness of zircon glazes for tiles
Glass and Ceramics, 1988The standard specification SEV 4870-84 Specifies that the determination in accordance with the Mohs scale for hardness be carried out on the front surface of internal wall tiles. As is known, the Mohs method is based on a comparison of the specimen to be tested and a range of minerals with a certain hardness, using a scale of from i (talc) to I0 ...

Dry glazing in ceramic tile production.
1999The efficiency of four different methods used to measure the flowability of the powders has been studied. The results obtained on pigments used in the production of tiles were correlated with the data obtained in semi-industrial conditions. The influence of the powder moisture on the amount of pigment that falls on the tile's surface was evaluated.
