Biological nitrogen fixation in four Gliricidia sepium genotypes
Plant and Soil, 1994A field experiment was conducted at the Coconut Research Institute in Sri Lanka to examine the biological nitrogen fixation potential of three Gliricidia sepium provenances (OFI 14/84, 17/84, 12/86) and a local landrace (designated LL), using the 15N isotope dilution method.

Increasing Gliricidia sepium and Cassia spectabilis biomass production
Agroforestry Systems, 1992This paper examines the impact of spacing on biomass production of monocropped and mixed hedgerows of seedlings and cutting of Gliricidia sepium and Cassia spectabilis. The impact of lime on G. sepium biomass production was also evaluated. Seedlings survived better than cuttings; and no differences were observed between seedlings in either pattern at ...

Performance of fifteen provenances of Gliricidia sepium in eastern Zambia
Forest Ecology and Management, 1994Abstract Fifteen provenances of Gliricidia sepium from Central and South America were planted at Msekera near Chipata in Eastern Zambia. The trial was evaluated at 27 and 39 months after planting for survival, height, diameter growth and above ground biomass production. At 27 months, the provenances showed good survival and mean height ranged from 2.

Evaluation of Gliricidia sepium provenances for alley cropping in Malawi
Forest Ecology and Management, 1994Abstract Nine provenances of Gliricidia sepium were evaluated to identify the most productive when managed under alley cropping at Kawinga in Machinga, Malawi. Individual provenances constituted plots arranged in randomized block design with six replications.
