Global Existence Result for the Generalized Peterlin Viscoelastic Model

SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2017
We consider a class of differential models of viscoelastic fluids with diffusive stress. These constitutive models are motivated by Peterlin dumbbell theories with a nonlinear spring law for an infinitely extensible spring.

Global Existence for Elastic Waves with Memory

Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, 2005
We treat the Cauchy problem for nonlinear systems of viscoelasticity with a memory term. We study the existence and the time decay of the solution to this nonlinear problem. The kernel of the memory term includes integrable singularity at zero and polynomial decay at infinity.

Global existence of weak solutions for compressible Navier--Stokes equations: Thermodynamically unstable pressure and anisotropic viscous stress tensor

Annals of Mathematics, 2015
We prove global existence of appropriate weak solutions for the compressible Navier--Stokes equations for more general stress tensor than those covered by P.-L. Lions and E. Feireisl's theory.

Global Existence of Finite Energy Weak Solutions of Quantum Navier–Stokes Equations

, 2016
In this paper we consider the Quantum Navier–Stokes system both in two and in three space dimensions and prove the global existence of finite energy weak solutions for large initial data.

On the existence of global first integrals in the plane

Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, 1993
A plane, autonomous, noncritical differential system x′=f(x) of classCk is given. Under a suitable «discreteness» hypothesis on the behavior of orbits, the exeistence of a global first integral as regular as the field (provided k ≠ ω)is proved.

Actually Existing Globalization

2000
There are two great, world-encompassing changes associated with the last quarter of the twentieth century: the rapid integration of the global economy and the unprecedented decline in the economic role of the state in most countries. The first of these, usually referred to as ‘globalization’, represents not a new direction but an acceleration of the ...

Global Existence Results for Viscoplasticity at Finite Strain

, 2016
We study a model for rate-dependent gradient plasticity at finite strain based on the multiplicative decomposition of the strain tensor, and investigate the existence of global-in-time solutions to the related PDE system.

Global existence without uniqueness [PDF]

open access: possibleAnnali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, 1970
In this paper we investigate the extendability of solutions of ordinary differential equations on [to, ∞) with the use of Liapunov functions. The results extend to non-unique systems the work done by Conti and Strauss, as well as establishing an equivalence between two properties of a Liapunov function.
