Application of global geopotential models to high-precesion levelling processing
Geodesy and Cartography, 2017The article studies the properties of the high-degree gravity field model EGM-2008 in the calculation of integral characteristics at large distances several times greater than the spatial resolution of the model. As an example of an indirect evaluation of a high-degree model, a gravimetric correction was computed into the sum of the measured ...

Evaluation of global geopotential models: a case study for India
Survey Review, 2018This paper aims to identify most suitable global geopotential model (GGM) for India, by comparing 15 GGMs developed through 1996 to 2017.

Accuracy Estimates of Geopotential Models and Global Geoids
1996The authors have developed a theoretical Geopotential Model Testing (GMT) methodology and applied it to existing data. The GMT method was developed without hypothesis regarding the geoid or the internal mass distribution of the Earth. The testing accuracy is limited only by the observational errors at the testing sites.

Evaluation of Recent Global Geopotential Models in Argentina
2010Recent Earth Geopotential Models (EGMs) represent a great improvement to several applications related to gravity field modeling. These models offer higher accuracy and better resolution of the gravity field.

Journal of Applied Geophysics, 2018
Abstract The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the usefulness of absolute gravity data for the validation of Global Geopotential Models (GGMs). It is also aimed at improving quasigeoid heights determined from satellite-only GGMs using absolute gravity data.

Analysis of Recent Global Geopotential Models Over the Croatian Territory
2010Independent quality control of the national geoid model HRG2000 was performed using 65 control points, obtained through the realization of EUVN and EUVN_DA projects and the Croatian fundamental gravity network. Ellipsoidal heights and positions of the control points are precisely determined by GNSS measurements while the geodetic heights are obtained ...

Consistent approximate models of the global atmosphere in non‐spherical geopotential coordinates
Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 2011AbstractTaking the spherical geopotential approximation as a starting point, previous work has revealed a quartet of dynamically consistent models of the global atmosphere according to whether approximations of shallow and quasi‐hydrostatic type are or are not made.

Assessment of recent global geopotential models based on the Auvergne test area data
Engineering Research Express, 2022Abstract The gravitational field is important for many natural phenomena related to earth dynamics, especially mass transport. Its precise determination is essential for earth sciences such as geodesy, geophysics and oceanography. Determining the earth’s gravitational field is the same as determining the earth’s potential.

Global Geopotential Models and Gravity Data for the Territory of Romania
1995In view of a gravimetric geoid computation for the territory of Romania, several global geopotential models (GGM) have been taken into account. This paper presents the ability of the OSU91A geopotential coefficient model to recover the gravity field on the Romanian territory, considering that no terrestrial gravity data from this region have been ...
