This study models real‐life UVB and UVA exposure across latitudes and seasons using an extended Diffey framework with behavioural corrections. Findings reveal predictable dose patterns and support pragmatic SPF and UVA‐PF caps, offering a quantitative basis for realistic photoprotection and regulatory discussion.

Inverse photovoltaic yield model for global horizontal irradiance reconstruction
AbstractThis article describes the method of deriving Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) from combining power measurements with static meta data (tilt, orientation, brand/type) of rooftop photovoltaic (PV)‐systems. This inverse PV model implements a forward yield model that is based on a modified Orgill and Hollands decomposition model and the Perez ...

Abstract The diatom Cymbella janischii is an invasive species in Japan, causing nuisance blooms by forming thick mats in rivers. To date, there are no documented studies on the microbiome associations in C. janischii mats or the processes that drive bloom formation.

Abstract Marine forests formed by canopy‐forming brown algae of the former Cystoseira complex are key habitat‐forming components of Mediterranean coastal ecosystems, supporting biodiversity and multiple ecosystem functions. However, many populations have declined in recent decades due to increasing anthropogenic pressures and climate change, raising ...

ABSTRACT Extreme heat can push plants beyond their thermal safety margin (TSM) if maximum leaf temperature (Tleaf_max) exceeds leaf critical temperature (Tcrit). The TSM is potentially useful for assessing heat vulnerability across species but needs further validation, so we exposed 50 tree/shrub species in controlled glasshouses to a 6‐day heatwave ...

An evaluation of simulation and measurement tools for germicidal ultraviolet (GUV) systems is presented to inform their design and deployment to control the spread of airborne pathogens. Abstract Germicidal ultraviolet (GUV) air treatment technologies can be effective and safe for reducing airborne disease transmission.
