Using Shortwave Radiation to Evaluate the HARMONIE-AROME Weather Model
Evaluation of global shortwave irradiance forecasts from the HARMONIE-AROME weather prediction model is presented in this paper. We give examples of how such an evaluation can be used when testing a weather model or reanalysis product.

From ecological principles to precision engineering of plant microbiomes for sustainable agriculture. The plant holobiont integrates diverse microbial niches (including rhizosphere, endosphere, phyllosphere, seed, and aerial‐root mucilagesphere), host genetics (namely M genes), and host metabolites. Furthermore, molecular dialogues, including rhizobial

Characterising City Scale Heat Climatology for Australian Climate Zones
The Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect in Australian cities peaks at night, intensifying under dry conditions, clear skies, increased solar radiation, and low wind speeds. Long‐term observations show that nighttime temperatures in major cities have warmed faster than their rural surroundings and future climate projections fail to capture this disparity ...

Intercomparison of 51 radiometers for determining global horizontal irradiance and direct normal irradiance measurements [PDF]
Abstract Accurate solar radiation measurements require properly installed and maintained radiometers with calibrations traceable to the World Radiometric Reference (WRR). This study analyzes the performance of 51 commercially available and prototype radiometers used for measuring global horizontal irradiances (GHI) or direct normal irradiances (DNI).

This study demonstrates that ERA5 provides more accurate surface radiation flux estimates than MERRA2 across the Southern Brazilian Pampa. Machine learning models, particularly Random Forest, further improved the precision of reanalysis data for climate applications.

ABSTRACT Objectives Perforated appendicitis commonly results in intra‐abdominal infection requiring prolonged antibiotic therapy. Intraoperative antimicrobial adjuncts are limited, and photodynamic therapy (PDT) may provide a targeted, resistance‐independent approach.

Monitoring cumulus clouds by using global horizontal irradiance data
Abstract A previously proposed method for the detection of cumulus clouds by using time series of global horizontal irradiance from a pyranometer is developed. A characteristic feature of this method is the acceptance of short 21-minute moving analysis windows as stationary.

Front contact selection governs interfacial stability in CdTe‐based (Cd(Se,Te)) solar cells on ultra‐thin space‐qualified cover glass. Optimized TCO/emitter combinations suppress interdiffusion and deliver up to 16.2% AM0 efficiency with high specific power, demonstrating strong potential for lightweight space photovoltaics.

Multi-Timescale Validation of Satellite-Derived Global Horizontal Irradiance in Côte d’Ivoire
Accurate solar radiation data are crucial for solar energy applications, yet ground-based measurements are limited in many regions. Satellite-derived and reanalysis products offer an alternative, but their accuracy varies across spatial and temporal ...
