Toward Stable Multivalent Metal Batteries: Understanding the Interfacial Chemistry for Magnesium and Calcium Metal Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Interphase chemistry governs the stability of multivalent metal batteries. We summarize state‐of‐the‐art developments in calcium and magnesium metal batteries by focusing on the correlation among electrolytes, interphase layers, and the electrochemical performance of corresponding metal anodes.

Innovation in Marketing Channels

open access: yesSymphonya, 2010
In more recent years, the context of globalization in which market channel structures and strategies are developing is bringing to a more complex concept of marketing channels, with disintermediation or reintermediation, multichanneling and new roles ...

The global recession and energy markets [PDF]

open access: yes
In the years before the economic crisis, global demand for energy resources rose sharply, especially from developing countries. During the economic crisis, oil demand decreased for a short period. In forecasting post-crisis developments, it is reasonable

Carbon Shell‐Encapsulated PtFe Catalysts in High Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells: Balancing Molecular Sieving and Diffusion for Enhanced Reactant Access

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Scanning electrochemical microscopy reveals reactant diffusion through porous carbon shells to PtFe cores, while the carbon‐encapsulated PtFe enables high‐performance HT‐PEMFC operation by sieving phosphate ions that induce catalyst poisoning. ABSTRACT High‐temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (HT‐PEMFCs) operating at 160°C on phosphoric

Managing Firm Competitiveness in Global Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
The globalization profile of US food firms is mixed. US sales from foreign direct investment is now over six times the level of exports, while US processed food trade balance has moved from +$9 billion in 1995 to -$7 billion in 2004.

Mechanical and Electrical Phenotype of hiPSC‐Cardiomyocytes on Fibronectin‐Based Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce fibronectin‐based PEG hydrogels with controlled rigidity to enable the culture of iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes. These substrates offer an alternative to the current culture of these cells on fibronectin‐coated glass, providing enhanced structural and functional behavior. The system provides a more physiologically relevant platform to assess

An Edible H2O2 Biosensor for Gastrointestinal Metabolites and Peroxidase Enzyme Quantification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We present an edible biosensor for gastric fluid analysis that integrates a caffeic acid–horseradish peroxidase redox system into an edible electrolyte‐gated transistor. The device enables rapid, low‐volume detection of H2O2 and, with minimal modification, metabolites and enzyme activity in simulated gastrointestinal conditions.

An Analysis of Global Timber Markets [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents a model of global timber markets that captures the evolution of a broad array of forest resources and timber market margins over time. These margins include the inaccessible northern and tropical margins, plantation establishment, and
