A Novel Flower Pollination Based Global Maximum Power Point Method for Solar Maximum Power Point Tracking

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2017
To maximize solar photovoltaic (PV) output under dynamic weather conditions, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controllers are incorporated in solar PV systems. However, the occurrence of multiple peaks due to partial shading adds complexity to the tracking process.

Solar PV Characteristic Independent Fast Global Maximum Power Point Tracking Algorithm

IECON 2020 The 46th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2020
This paper proposes a novel maximum power point tracking algorithm for solar PV system that can work even under partial shading conditions. The proposed algorithm is easy to implement, does not depend on any system parameters, and always takes same amount of time for tracking global maximum power point.

Global Maximum Power Point Tracking of Flexible Photovoltaic Modules

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2014
The flexible photovoltaic (PV) modules have the advantage of easily fitting on curved surfaces, but in that case their power-voltage characteristic exhibits local maximum power points (MPPs) where the PV module power production is suboptimal. In this paper, the effect of geometrical installation parameters of flexible PV modules, such as the bending ...

Predicting the Global Maximum Power Point Locus using Shading Information

2019 IEEE International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering and 2019 IEEE Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Europe (EEEIC / I&CPS Europe), 2019
The power-voltage characteristic curves of a series-connected photovoltaic (PV) system exhibit multiple peaks in partial shading scenario (PSS). However, there lacks a feasible model that obtains the capability of predicting the global maximum power point (GMPP) locus.

Global maximum power point tracking method under partial shading conditions

2015 IEEE Advanced Information Technology, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IAEAC), 2015
The power characteristics of photovoltaic systems can have multiple peaks when under partially shading conditions which can cause traditional power tracking methods to operate at the lower power peaks. This paper presents a global maximum power point tracking method under partially shading conditions.

Hardware methods for detecting global maximum power point in a PV power plant

2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015
Conventional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms are designed under assumption that all modules are uniformly insulated and therefore can be characterized by a single maximum power point (MPP). At increasing power level PV arrays become larger in area.

Experimental evaluation of hardware-based Global Maximum Power Point Searching methods

IECON 2015 - 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2015
Operation under partial shading condition (PSC) significantly decreases energy extracted from photovoltaic (PV) power plants. Non-uniform insolation caused by the passing clouds and natural obstacles results in some PV modules to be effectively excluded from operation.

Global Maximum Power Point Tracking Algorithm for Solar Power System

2019
The P-U curve of the PV (photovoltaic) system has multi-peak characteristics under non-uniform irradiance conditions (NUIC). The conventional MPPT algorithm can only track the local maximum power points, therefore, PV system fails to work at the global optimum, causing serious energy loss.

A High Speed Global Maximum Power Point Tracking Algorithm for PV Systems

2016
Partial shading is one of the unfavourable conditions for photovoltaic modules since available power of them decreases. Besides that, maximum power point tracking becomes difficult in that kind of condition. Multiple maximum power points occur on the voltage - power curve of photovoltaic modules, if modules have bypass diodes.
