Hybrid global maximum power point tracking algorithm under partial shading condition
Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, 2018This paper presents a hybrid global maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm under partial shading conditions, which consists of five methods, including the global scanning method, the filtering method, the binary searching method, the three-point method, and the anti-restarting method.

Experimental evaluation of hardware-based Global Maximum Power Point Searching methods
IECON 2015 - 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2015Operation under partial shading condition (PSC) significantly decreases energy extracted from photovoltaic (PV) power plants. Non-uniform insolation caused by the passing clouds and natural obstacles results in some PV modules to be effectively excluded from operation.

Global Maximum Power Point Tracking Algorithm for Solar Power System
2019The P-U curve of the PV (photovoltaic) system has multi-peak characteristics under non-uniform irradiance conditions (NUIC). The conventional MPPT algorithm can only track the local maximum power points, therefore, PV system fails to work at the global optimum, causing serious energy loss.

A High Speed Global Maximum Power Point Tracking Algorithm for PV Systems
2016Partial shading is one of the unfavourable conditions for photovoltaic modules since available power of them decreases. Besides that, maximum power point tracking becomes difficult in that kind of condition. Multiple maximum power points occur on the voltage - power curve of photovoltaic modules, if modules have bypass diodes.

A Novel Global Maximum Power Point Tracking Method based on Shading Detection
2019 International SoC Design Conference (ISOCC), 2019Partial shading conditions (PSC) caused by the nearby trees and dust are inevitable in photovoltaic (PV) generation systems. Traditional maximum power point tracking (MPPT) methods may fail in tracking the global maximum power point (GMPP) under PSC. This paper proposes a novel global maximum power point tracking (GMPPT) method whose tracking speed is ...

Comparison of global maximum power point tracking methods under partial shading conditions
2016 China International Conference on Electricity Distribution (CICED), 2016This paper categorizes existing global maximum power point tracking (GMPPT) methods and makes a comparison of their major characteristics. Our work could be considered as a useful reference to choose a suitable method for specific PV systems.

A global maximum power point tracking method for PV module integrated converters
2012 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2012This paper proposes a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method to seek the global maximum power point (MPP) in photovoltaic (PV) modules. The method infers partial shading—and hence the possibility of multiple maxima—by monitoring bypass-diode voltages and initiates a global search routine only if a bypass diode turns on.
