Low-Carbon Oriented Routing Optimisation in Logistics Distribution Systems with Road Congestion Considerations

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb)
In the context of global decarbonisation initiatives, the logistics sector faces dual challenges: its substantial energy consumption and carbon footprint conflict with societal goals for a low-carbon economy, while escalating pressures from urban traffic

In silico and in vitro exploration of a tyrosinase for biocatalytic production of catechols

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tyrosinase from Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum is a promising biocatalyst for producing valuable catechols from monophenol substrates. This tyrosinase is uniquely suited to this due to its high monophenolase : diphenolase ratio. We combined in silico docking and in vivo kinetic characterisation of this tyrosinase with 11 industrially relevant monophenols,

Optimisation of a Modified SynRM Based on a New Design Strategy Considering Line‐Start Capability and Improved Power Factor

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
This paper presents a modified structure of synchronous reluctance motors (SynRMs) combined with a new design strategy in which hybrid optimisation is considered to enhance line start capability and power factor.

Memory-Based Optimal Response Sensor Coverage Optimization Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access
To address the limitations of conventional sensor coverage optimisation algorithms in traditional sensor networks—namely their reliance on predefined iteration counts and lack of self-organisation capabilities during random deployment in ...

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Structural and biochemical insights into the thermostable esterase Ta0887 from Thermoplasma acidophilum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, a novel esterase from the thermoacidophilic archaeon Thermoplasma acidophilum was biochemically and structurally characterized. Our results demonstrate that Ta0887 is a highly thermostable esterase that preferentially hydrolyzes p‐nitrophenyl hexanoate and possesses an α‐helical cap domain that likely contributes to its substrate ...

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.

Paramagnetic Rim Lesions Are Associated With Trans‐Synaptic Degeneration of the Visual Pathway in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.
