Exergy of solar radiation: global scale

Ecological Modelling, 2003
A new concept regarding the exergy of solar radiation [Ecol. Model. 145 (1991) 101] is applied to the analysis of satellite data describing the seasonal (monthly) dynamics of four components of the global radiation balance: incoming and outgoing short- and long-wave solar radiation.

Global solar radiation climate of Libya

Energy Conversion and Management, 1992
Abstract This paper presents the general features of the global solar radiation measured by 15 meteorological stations spread over Libya during the 5-yr period, 1981–1986. A number of methods for correlating monthly average daily global radiation with recorded sunshine duration have been attempted.

Global Solar Radiation Potential, Part 1: Model Development

Energy Sources, Part B: Economics, Planning, and Policy, 2006
Solar engineers, architects, agriculturists, and hydrologists dealing with many applications of solar energy require a reasonably accurate knowledge about the availability of solar resources at any place. For this purpose, in the past, several empirical correlations have been developed in order to predict the solar radiation around the world.

Empirical models for estimating the daily and monthly global solar radiation for Mediterranean and Central Anatolia region of Turkey

International Journal of Global Warming (IJGW), 2020
Climatology and geoengineering studies in literature clearly identify the relationship between solar radiation and global warming. These studies generally try to predict progress in global warming.

Characteristics of Global Solar Radiation Monitor Utilizing Solar Cells

Journal of Solar Energy Engineering, 2011
This brief note examines the characteristics of solar cells from the standpoint of developing a global solar radiation monitor. The study is performed using a simplified photovoltaic test monitor manufactured, a single crystal p-type czochraliski (CZ) silicon solar cell of the construction n+pp++ passivated emitter solar cell coupled to a fluke 73 ...

Prediction Models for Global Solar Radiations, Diffused Radiations and Direct Solar Radiations Using ANFIS

2016
In this study, the meteorological parameters of weather station of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, India, has been considered for solar radiation prediction models based on adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) have been proposed considering different inputs on daily basis for the year 2015.

A global classification of solar radiation

Solar Energy, 1970
Abstract A series of indices has been constructed in an attempt to regionalize the annual march of solar radiation on a global scale. Over one thousand sampling points were used in order to derive the spatial distribution of the 12-month radiation curve.

Assessment of some global solar radiation parameterizations

Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics, 2002
In spite of their practicability, most classical models are not versatile but rather restrictive in their application. Consequently, their applicability for a particular location depends largely on validation against actual measurements. Global solar radiation parameterizations have been evaluated in this study for a lowland and a mountain site. Tested

The Asymmetry of Global Solar Radiation Around Solar Noon

Journal of Applied Meteorology, 1988
Abstract Using approximately 25 years of rehabilitated global solar radiation measurements, an analysis of the asymmetry of global solar radiation around solar noon was performed for three climatic regions of the United states represented by Miami, Florida; Fort Worth, Texas; and Washington, DC.

On the global solar radiation prediction methods

Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, 2016
The availability of reasonably accurate global solar radiation data is vital for the success of any solar project. However, only a few meteorological stations around the world capture these data as a result of the high cost of measuring equipment and the lack of technical capability in calibrating them.
