Predicting global solar radiation for South America

Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, 2012
Solar energy is one of the most promising renewable energy sources. The availability of the solar energy potential data is very scarce and often not readily accessible. The main objective of this study was to estimate the monthly average global solar radiation at various locations for South America, by the generalized Iranna-Bapat’s model. Iranna-Bapat’

Artificial Intelligence Based Global Solar Radiation Prediction

2023
Solar energy is one of the cleanest renewable energy sources and has no environmental impact. Solar radiation data is important to solar engineers, designers and architects which is also fundamental for efficiently determining irrigation water needs and potential yield of crops, among others.

Assessment of Global Solar Radiation over Rwanda

2007 International Conference on Clean Electrical Power, 2007
This paper aims to estimating the global solar radiation in Rwanda. We mainly treated the particular case of Kigali where meteorological data records (sunshine duration, temperature, pressure and humidity) over a period of 20 years (1974 to 1993) are available.

Simple hourly global solar radiation prediction models

Renewable Energy, 1991
Abstract Three simple prediction models of hourly global radiation, namely, a normal distribution model (ND), a half-sine wave model (HW), and a polynomial model (PO), are tested using data for a period of five years of the area of Amman, Jordan. The results show that none of these models alone can adequately represent the tested data.

Global solar radiation measurements in Maceió, Brazil

Renewable Energy, 2005
Abstract This work focuses on the variability of the global solar radiation over the area of Maceio (9°40′S, 35°42′W, 127 m), located in Northeastern State of Alagoas, Brazil, during the1997–1999 period. Solar radiation variability was evaluated on 5 min, hourly, daily, monthly and seasonal scales.

Global solar radiation in Northeastern Saudi Arabia

Renewable Energy, 1999
Abstract This paper presents the actual global solar radiation on a horizontal surface along with the prevailing meteorological conditions encountered during the measurement period from 1 January–31 December, for one complete year, in the Arabian Gulf Coast near the city of Dhahran.

Simplified Method To Estimate Global Solar Radiation

Proceedings of the 25th Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference, 1990
In order to simplify solar radiation analysis and to asses its effect on energy estimation, a simplified method to estimate average global horizontal solar radiation is required. This paper analyzes global solar radiation for (8) eight Iraqi cities and (8) eight U.S.A cities and proposes a method for generalizing this data for use in different location.
