Global solar radiation prediction for Makurdi, Nigeria, using neural networks ensemble

Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2019
In this work, various artificial neural networks (ANNs) used for predicting the solar radiation in Makurdi city, Nigeria (7°7ʹ N long. 8°6ʹ) have been developed: Feed-forward back-propagation neural network (FFNN), radial basis function network (RBFN ...

Simple model for estimating global solar radiation

Solar & Wind Technology, 1985
Abstract A variety of numerical models for calculation incoming solar radiation on horizontal surface are existing. The preferences of any model are due to level of accuracy and simplicity. In this paper, a one layer model is proposed (in case when layer information are not available).

Predicting global solar radiation for North Algeria

RE&PQJ
Having a complete and effective radiometric database is very crucial in the renewable energy field for the design of solar photovoltaic and thermal system. Despite the existence of the chain of radiometric measurement at the University of Blida, data acquisition of various components of radiation is still having problems, such as gaps in basic ...

Monthly mean hourly global solar radiation estimation

Solar Energy, 2012
Abstract In this paper, selected empirical models were used to estimate the monthly mean hourly global solar radiation from the daily global radiation at three sites in the east coast of Malaysia. The purpose is to determine the most accurate model to be used for estimating the monthly mean hourly global solar radiation in these sites.

STOCHASTIC MODELING OF DAILY GLOBAL SOLAR RADIATION

International Journal of Solar Energy, 1989
A general model for the simulation of the daily global solar radiation is introduced. The model development is based on the removal of the annual periodicity and seasonal variation of the solar radiation, through an appropriate transformation, so that the transformed data form a stationary time series (with constant mean and standard deviation).
