Global stability of population models

Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 1981
Local stability seems to imply global stability for population models. To investigate this claim, we formally define apopulation model. This definition seems to include the one-dimensional discrete models now in use. We derive a necessary and sufficient condition for the global stability of our defined class of models.

Global Stability with Spillovers*

Economic Record, 1979
This paper investigates the stability of a small, highly stylized economy, which has imperfectly informed traders visiting markets sequentially. Trading out of equilibrium is allowed. Roughly speaking, this system is found to be stable, even though spillovers are present, as long as the direct effects of price changes dominate the spillovers.

Global stability results for models of commensalism

, 2017
We analyze the global stability of the coexisting equilibria for several models of commensalism, first by devising a procedure to modify several Lyapunov functionals which were introduced earlier for corresponding models of mutualism, further confirming ...

Global Guidance Stabilization

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1996
Abstract A global stabilization problem for nonlinear control systems is considered. First an auxiliary control system with a full-dimensional set of controls is studied. In many cases a global stabilizer for such a system can be found in an analytical form.

Technology and Global Stability

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1982
A review of the links between technology and conflict is attempted as a means to provide insight useful to us in future linkages. Growth of technology and the use of technology to further humankind's goals is immutable. The past certainly appears to be a prologue to the future, and we are left with a series of questions as to a future with global ...

Global stability of a commensal symbiosis model with feedback controls

, 2015
In this paper, a commensal symbiosis model with feedback controls is investigated. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov function, we show that the positive equilibrium of the system is globally stable, which means that feedback control variables only ...

Morishima Systems and Global Stability

International Economic Review, 1990
In this paper, it is shown that a Morishima-type sign pattern on the Jacobian of excess demand, holding for all prices, assures system stability with respect to the normalized tatonnement process, starting from almost any price. Global Stability and Uniqueness

1976
Suppose that a viscous fluid is set into motion by external forces or by the motion of the boundary S(t) of a closed container V(t). The velocity field U(x,t) is assumed to be governed by the initial boundary value problem (IBVP) for the Navier-Stokes equations.

Asian Growth and Global Stability

2010
The structure and policy architecture of the world economy, as it emerges from the historic challenges now underway, will be affected by the dramatic rise of Asian economies and deepening connections among them. This important book examines the rapid transformation of the Asian economy, the challenges it faces, emerging regional solutions, and how Asia
