Global stability of nonlinear feedback systemswith positive descriptor linear parts [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Technical Sciences, 2019
The global (absolute) stability of nonlinear systems with negative feedbacks and positive descriptor linear parts is addressed. Transfer matrices of positive descriptor linear systems are analyzed.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Global stability of an age-structured epidemic model with general Lyapunov functional

open access: yesMathematical Biosciences and Engineering, 2019
In this paper, we focus on the study of the dynamics of a certain age structured epidemic model. Our aim is to investigate the proposed model, which is based on the classical SIR epidemic model, with a general class of nonlinear incidence rate with some ...

Global Behavior of a Multi–Group Seir Epidemic Model with Spatial Diffusion in a Heterogeneous Environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2022
In this paper, we propose a multi-group SEIR epidemic model with spatial diffusion, where the model parameters are spatially heterogeneous. The positivity and ultimate boundedness of the solution, as well as the existence of a global attractor of the ...

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Global dynamics of an age-structured malaria model with prevention

open access: yesMathematical Biosciences and Engineering, 2019
In this paper, we formulate a new age-structured malaria model, which incorporates the age of prevention period of susceptible people, the age of latent period of human and the age of latent period of female Anopheles mosquitoes.

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

A large‐scale retrospective study in metastatic breast cancer patients using circulating tumour DNA and machine learning to predict treatment outcome and progression‐free survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

Multi‐omic characterization of consensus molecular subtype 1 (CMS1) colorectal cancer with dampened immune response improves precision medicine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of multi‐omic analyses in characterizing colorectal cancers. Indeed, our analysis revealed a rare CMS1 exhibiting dampened immune activation, including reduced PD‐1 expression, moderate CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, and suppressed JAK/STAT pathway.

Sensitivity analysis of a mathematical model for malaria transmission accounting for infected ignorant humans and relapse dynamics

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
This article presents and analyzes a deterministic model for malaria transmission that incorporates infected individuals who are unaware of their infectious status (ignorant infected humans) and accounts for relapse dynamics.
