Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

The FAST Globular Cluster Pulsar Survey (GC FANS)

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
By 2025 January, 60 pulsars were discovered by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope globular cluster (GC) pulsar survey (GC FANS), with spin periods spanning 1.98–3960.72 ms. Of these, 55 are millisecond pulsars (MSPs; P

The Elliptical Galaxy formerly known as the Local Group: Merging the Globular Cluster Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Prompted by a new catalogue of M31 globular clusters, we have collected together individual metallicity values for globular clusters in the Local Group. Although we briefly describe the globular cluster systems of the individual Local Group galaxies, the

Characterizing epithelial‐mesenchymal transition‐linked heterogeneity in breast cancer circulating tumor cells at a single‐cell level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In over 50% of non‐metastatic breast cancer patients, circulating tumor cells (CTCs) along the whole epithelial‐mesenchymal transition spectrum are detected. Total CTC number and individual phenotypes relate to aggressive disease characteristics, including lymph node involvement and higher tumor proliferation. At the single‐cell level, mesenchymal CTCs

Radial Color Gradient in a Globular Cluster 1. M68 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 1990
Stars in M68 from the observed color-magnitude diagrams with CCD were integrated to find any radial gradient. The result shows that M68 has a slightly bluer core.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Population-dependent r-process Scatter in the Globular Cluster M15

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Multiple populations, defined by correlations between light element abundances, are an almost ubiquitous property of globular clusters. On the other hand, dispersions among the heavy elements are limited to a few rare clusters. In this Letter, we present

Current trends in single‐cell RNA sequencing applications in diabetes mellitus

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing is a powerful approach to decipher the cellular and molecular landscape at a single‐cell resolution. The rapid development of this technology has led to a wide range of applications, including the detection of cellular and molecular mechanisms and the identification and introduction of novel potential diagnostic and ...
