Results 71 to 80 of about 2,037,911 (340)
We present the first high-resolution abundance study of ESO 280-SC06, one of the least luminous and most metal-poor gravitationally bound Milky Way globular clusters.

CCD Photometry of the Globular Cluster M30 [PDF]
We present UBV CCD photometry of the metal-poor globular cluster M30. The data were obtained using the 40 inch telescope at Mt. Stromlo and Siding Spring Observatory (MSSSO).

Contribution of stripped nuclear clusters to globular cluster and ultracompact dwarf galaxy populations [PDF]
We use the Millennium II cosmological simulation combined with the semi-analytic galaxy formation model of Guo et al. to predict the contribution of galactic nuclei formed by the tidal stripping of nucleated dwarf galaxies to globular cluster (GC) and ...

In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Contribution of Globular Clusters to Diffuse Gamma-Ray Emission from the Galactic Plane
The diffuse Galactic gamma-ray emission (DGE) provides a valuable probe for investigating the cosmic-ray propagation and interactions within our Galactic environment.

The Globular Cluster Migratory Origin of Nuclear Star Clusters [PDF]
Nuclear Star Clusters (NSCs) are often present in spiral galaxies as well as resolved Stellar Nuclei (SNi) in elliptical galaxies centres. Ever growing observational data indicate the existence of correlations between the properties of these very dense ...

Neutrino and axion bounds from the globular cluster M5 (NGC 5904). [PDF]
The red-giant branch (RGB) in globular clusters is extended to larger brightness if the degenerate helium core loses too much energy in "dark channels." Based on a large set of archival observations, we provide high-precision photometry for the Galactic ...

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...
