Globular Star Clusters

Science, 1945
In this seminar globular star clusters are represented as very important objects, that have been studied for over 100 years. How they formed is still a matter of debate but with Hubble Space Telescope a lot of progress has been made due to increase of ...

Abundance Anomalies in Globular Cluster Stars

EAS Publications Series, 2006
We present a summary of the extensive problems posed by the curious abundance correlations seen in stars in Galactic globular clusters. We discuss three scenarios, and conclude that only one seems to be consistent with the observations. Even this is still rather unsatisfying from many viewpoints.

AGB Stars in Globular Clusters

2007
From our study of AGB stars in globular clusters we present here three results: (1) Period-luminosity relations derived for the long-period variables in four clusters show a similar splitting into two sequences but also differ in the maximum luminosity reached.

X-Ray Stars in Globular Clusters

Scientific American, 1977
The properties and kinetics of x-ray stars in globular clusters are described. Locations, configurations, star evolution, massive close binary systems, various mechanisms, and the x-ray burster properties are included. (JFP)
