Systematicness of glomalin in roots and mycorrhizosphere of a split-root trifoliate orange
Understanding the behavior of mycorrhiza-originated glomalin, either of plant or soil origin, is anticipated to facilitate better opportunities of modulating antioxidants and carbon distribution in plants.

Determination of glomalin in agriculture and forest soils by near-infrared spectroscopy [PDF]
Determining and characterizing soil organic matter (SOM) cheaply and reliably can help to support decisions concerning sustainable land management and climate policy. Glomalin was recommended as one of possible indicators of SOM quality.

Enzyme Activity, Glomalin, and Soil Organic Carbon in Agroforestry Systems [PDF]
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate enzyme activity, glomalin-related soil proteins (GRSP), soil chemical attributes, and total organic carbon (TOC) in two Agroforestry systems (AFS) (AFS-1 and AFS-2), in a traditional agriculture area (TA), and secondary forest (SF) area in Paraty (RJ).

Glomalin and carbon sequestration in cultivated tepetates
The tepetates are hardened volcanic tuffs that outcrop on the surface due to erosive processes; some of them can be ameliorated for agriculture and thus sequester carbon ©. This element accumulates in fragile aggregates that are formed as part of their developing physical structure after being cultivated, but the mechanism by which it is sequestered in

Glomalin production and accumulation in soilless pot cultures
This study was designed to determine how glomalin production relates to accumulation in three sequential greenhouse culturing periods using a soilless potting medium. The data indicated that this stable glycoprotein was washed out the pot bottom, and did not accumulate in the hyphal chamber.

Role of iron in the accumulation of glomalin, an arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal glycoprotein
Effects of iron on production of glomalin, an arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal glycoprotein, were examined. In a preliminary experiment comparing available (FeEDDHA) and unavailable iron (hematite), low amounts of glomalin were produced with the former ...

COMPARISON OF GLOMALIN AND HUMIC ACID IN EIGHT NATIVE U.S. SOILS
Two important extractable fractions of soil organic matter (SOM) arehumic acid (HA) and glomalin-related soil protein (glomalin). Optimizing the purity of each fraction is necessary to correlate fraction quantity and molecular characteristics with soil quality.

Characterization of glomalin proteins in soil: A potential indicator of erosion intensity
In this study, in a pioneering effort, glomalin proteins were extracted and geochemically characterized from soil in Serbia. Standard chemical (dry combustion, Walkley-Black) and spectroscopic methods (fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR ...

The pitfalls of rDNA-based AMF identification: a comparative analysis of rDNA and protein-coding genes. [PDF]
Summary Intragenomic polymorphism of rDNA in arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) has been largely overlooked in ecological and taxonomic studies, and the reliability of nuclear rDNA regions for species identification has not been comprehensively evaluated and compared with protein‐coding genes.
