Sex difference in the age-related decline of global longitudinal strain of left ventricle
Global longitudinal strain (GLS) is a valuable indicator of subclinical myocardial dysfunction. Whether the effect of aging on subclinical left ventricular dysfunction is sex-specific is not well documented.

Single‐Mitochondrion ATP Profiling Directs Discovery of Targetable OXPHOS Dependency in Cancers
MitoATP‐nFCM integrates nano‐flow cytometry with fluorogenic probes (ATP/membrane potential) and antibodies to quantify mitochondrial metabolites and protein expression at single‐organelle resolution, exposing oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS)‐driven metabolic rewiring in cancers.

Geodesic least squares regression on information manifolds [PDF]
We present a novel regression method targeted at situations with significant uncertainty on both the dependent and independent variables or with non-Gaussian distribution models.

Stroke‐induced lactate accumulation promotes p300‐mediated lactylation of methyl‐CpG binding protein 2 (MeCP2) at lysine 210, which reprograms microglial metabolism toward glycolysis and activates the hexokinase 2 (HK2)/mTOR axis. This cascade promotes proinflammatory responses and impairs neurofunctional outcomes.

Pairwise Tests of Purchasing Power Parity Using Aggregate and Disaggregate Price Measures [PDF]
In this paper we adopt a new approach to testing for purchasing power parity, PPP, that is robust to base country effects, cross-section dependence, and aggregation.

GOT1 Inhibition Induces Extracellular Matrix Remodeling in Pancreatic Cancer
Using tumor tissue engineering, we recreated pancreatic cancer and found that inhibiting glutamic‐oxaloacetic transaminase 1 (GOT1) induces extracellular matrix remodeling and secretome rewiring, as well as promotes cell death. ABSTRACT Pancreatic cancer cells rely on glutamine to sustain their survival in the stiff and poorly vascularized tumor ...

A tool to increase information-processing capacity for consumer water meter data
Background: Water service providers invoice most South African urban consumers for the water they use every month. A secure treasury system generates water invoices at municipalities’ financial departments.

Background: In individuals with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) cardiovascular imaging modalities show a high prevalence of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), systolic/diastolic dysfunction and ventricular dilatation (dilated cardiomyopathy), which are ...

Background: In recent years, the assessment of global longitudinal strain (GLS) derived by speckle-tracking analysis has become a clinically feasible alternative to left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (LVEF) for the assessment of myocardial function.

Doxorubicin (DOX)‐induced cardiotoxicity is a major limitation to its broader clinical application, while cardioprotective interventions often risk reducing the anticancer efficacy of DOX. To address these challenges, this work constructs an EDTA‐functionalized metal–organic framework that enhances tumor therapy and provides efficient cardioprotection ...
