Use of Schizosaccharomyces pombe to Consume Gluconic Acid in Grape Must in Unique and Sequential Inoculations With Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Grape and Wine Research
Conclusions: The S. pombe strains, Sp3 and Sp7, consumed the highest amount of gluconic acid, 90.5 ± 3.7% and 63.9 ± 3.6%, respectively. Sequential inoculations at 24 h significantly reduced gluconic acid consumptions.

Metabolite Profiles and Antioxidant Activity of Dendrobium catenatum Under Simulated Wild Cultivation

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Dendrobium catenatum grown under simulated wild cultivation showed significantly higher flavonoids and stilbenes, leading to enhanced antioxidant activity in both leaves and stems compared to facility‐grown plants. Integrated metabolomics, antioxidant assays, and network pharmacology identified Denbinobin as a key multi‐target antioxidant compound ...

Stimuli‐responsive nanostructured hydrogen sulfide donors for enhanced cancer treatments

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
Three typical kinds of stimuli‐responsive nanostructured hydrogen sulfide (H2S) donors are reviewed. The nanostructures ensure precise delivery of H2S to the lesion site and regulate the release behavior. The H2S‐based gas therapy has been used to synergize with other cancer treatment modalities, achieving enhanced efficacy while reducing side effects.

Nanomedicine applications in lymphoma: Advancing precision diagnostics, targeted therapeutics, and prospective developments

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Lymphoma is a group of blood cancers that can appear in lymph nodes, blood, bone marrow, spleen, liver, or the central nervous system, which makes drug delivery and disease monitoring difficult. This review summarizes how nanomedicine technologies may improve targeted treatment and imaging, while carefully separating approved or guideline‐supported ...

Key Kombucha Process Parameters for Optimal Bioactive Compounds and Flavor Quality

open access: yesFermentation
The relationship between Kombucha fermentation process parameters and microbial composition was investigated. Green tea Kombucha fermented slower, producing a higher sugar/acid ratio, residual sucrose, and sweeter taste compared to black tea Kombucha. No

Protective effects of extracellular vesicle‐like nanoparticles derived from Cannabis sativa adventitious roots against UVB‐induced damage in human keratinocytes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
Cannabis sativa root‐derived extracellular vesicle‐like nanoparticles (CA‐NPs) were isolated from adventitious root cultures and subjected to physicochemical characterization. Upon UVB exposure, keratinocytes exhibited increased ROS generation, apoptosis and MAPK activation, leading to oxidative stress and skin damage.
