Design of a hammer mill for the production of ceramic glue

open access: yesRevista Ingenio, 2015
Clay is the main material used in the different manufacturing processes for ceramic products, in the case of glues, there is a great variety of clays used in the manufacture of this product, the differences are reflected in their chemical composition ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Sacrificial strategy to fabricate durable superhydrophobic wood via hierarchical roughness and elastic crosslinking

open access: yesJournal of Bioresources and Bioproducts
With growing demand for renewable resources, superhydrophobic wood is widely regarded as leading candidate for outdoor construction applications. However, superhydrophobic wood still suffers from insufficient mechanical strength and durability under long-

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Study of glued elements of model kits under atmospheric conditions and contact with molding mixtures

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия
The quality of obtained castings directly depends on the model equipment and the materials used for its production. The properties of elements of model kits, made of plastic and joined using glue technology, are examined.

Dilepton radiation by vector mesons and off-shell partons in the hot and dense medium

open access: yes, 2010
According to the dynamical quasiparticle model (DQPM) - matched to reproduce lattice QCD results in thermodynamic limit, - the constituents of the strongly interacting quark-gluon plasma (sQGP) are massive and off-shell quasi-particles (quarks and gluons)

Substrate Stress Relaxation Regulates Cell‐Mediated Assembly of Extracellular Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Silicone‐based viscoelastic substrates with tunable stress relaxation reveal how matrix mechanics regulates cellular mechanosensing and cell‐mediated matrix remodelling in the stiff regime. High stress relaxation promotes assembly of fibronectin fibril‐like structures, increased nuclear localization of YAP and formation of β1 integrin‐enriched ...

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Automatic calibration of SWMM parameters based on multi-objective optimisation model

open access: yesJournal of Hydroinformatics
To address the issue of low accuracy and inefficiency in the traditional parameter calibration methods for the SWMM model, this paper constructs an automatic parameter calibration model based on multi-objective optimisation algorithms. Firstly, the Sobol
