Heat Resistance of Glued Finger Joints in Spruce Wood Constructions

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
The heat resistance of glued spruce wood was evaluated for different joint types and adhesives. Bending strength, modulus of elasticity, and also fracture evaluation were investigated on glued spruce samples made by the finger-jointed principle.

The Influence of Alternating Lower and Higher Temperatures on the Bending Characteristics of Glued Norway Spruce (Picea abies (L.) H. Karst.) and European Larch (Larix decidua Mill.) Wood

open access: yes, 2022
This article deals with the effect of alternating lower (freezing) and higher (heating) temperatures on the static bending characteristics of glued Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) H. Karst.) and European larch (Larix decidua Mill.) wood.

Technological properties of a branched polyethyleneimine derivative as a cross-linker for low molar ratio urea-formaldehyde resins

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2023
To address formaldehyde release problem, low-molar-ratio UF resin has become the industry's major adhesive for bonding wood-based panels. Unfortunately, its drawbacks of poor water resistance, low bonding strength and slow curing rate lead to low ...

ARCHES WITH GLUED WOOD. THE HISTORY OF DEVELOPMENT

open access: yesCurrent problems of architecture and urban planning, 2021
Building structures made of solid and glued timber have long been widely used in many countries of the world, they have existed for several centuries. Their appearance is due to the fact that the available material, wood of natural origin, often could not be obtained with the desired section and quality.

Rotational wood welding: Mechanical properties of thermally treated oak [PDF]

open access: yesGlasnik Šumarskog Fakulteta: Univerzitet u Beogradu, 2022
The paper examined the strength of rotationally welded joints between untreated beech dowels and samples of thermally modified and unmodified oak wood (used as substrates). The results were compared with the control group where beech dowels were

On the Endurance of Glued-Laminated Wood

open access: yesjournal of the Japan Society for Testing Materials, 1962
In the present report we have experimented on the bending fatigue strength of glued-laminated wood which is made of Japanese cypress and is glued with urea resin or phenol resin. For comparison, same experiments have been carried out also on solid Japanese cypress and beech with controled moisture content and air dried.
