Design and modeling of glulam beams with holes
Abstract The paper presents a sketch of design recommendations and numerical simulations of stress distributions in perforated double-tapered beams made of glued laminated timber, taking into account the reinforcement used. Conscious design requires, according to the authors opinion, calculations performed using the finite element method.

This work proposes a new framework for the assessment of biogenic carbon and calculates new emission factors based on full forest carbon dynamics, with harvest intensity showing a clear effect on the emission factors. Temporal dynamics as well as short‐ and long‐term impacts highlight the importance of considering time in the assessment of biogenic CO2.
