Glutaric acidemia type 1 [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, 2006
AbstractGlutaric acidemias comprise different disorders resulting in an increased urinary excretion of glutaric acid. Glutaric acidemia type 1 (GA‐1) is an autosomal recessive disorder of lysine, hydroxylysine, and tryptophan metabolism caused by deficiency of glutaryl‐CoA dehydrogenase.

Protective Effects of Peroxisome Proliferator‐Activated Receptor‐α Agonist, Wy14643, on Hypoxia/Reoxygenation Injury in Primary Rat Hepatocytes

open access: yesPPAR Research, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
This study investigates the effects and possible mechanism of an agonist of PPARα, Wy14643, on primary hepatocytes subjected to H/R injury in rats. H/R induced a significant increase ALT, AST, MDA in the culture medium and ROS in the hepatocytes. These effects were reversed by pretreatment with Wy14643 in the dose‐dependent manner.

A comparison of the distribution of actin and tubulin in the mammalian mitotic spindle as seen by indirect immunofluorescence [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
Rabbit antibodies against actin and tubulin were used in an indirect immunofluorescence study of the structure of the mitotic spindle of PtK1 cells after lysis under conditions that preserve anaphase chromosome movement. During early prophase there is no

GLUTARIC ACIDURIA ‘TYPE II’ [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Research, 1975
A new fetal metabolic disorder is described, mainly characterised by severe acidosis and hypoglycaemia, a' sweaty-feet' like odour, and massive glutaric aciduria and acidaemia. In addition, urinary excretion of isobutyric and isovaleric acid was increased, as well as that of some dicarboxylic acids.

Unscheduled DNA synthesis after partial UV irradiation of the cell nucleus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Cells of an euploid strain of the Chinese hamster synchronized in the G1 phase were microirradiated in the nucleus with a laser UV microbeam (λ = 257 nm) and pulse-labelled with [3H]thymidine. In autoradiographs of cells fixed immediately after the pulse
