Development of a biosensor for glycated hemoglobin

Electrochimica Acta, 2007
Abstract The development of an electrochemical piezoelectric sensor for the detection of glycated hemoglobin is presented. The total hemoglobin (Hb) content is monitored with a mass-sensitive quartz crystal modified with surfactants, and the glycated fraction of the immobilized Hb is determined by subsequent voltammetric measurement of the coupled ...

Relationship between glycated albumin and glycated hemoglobin according to glucose tolerance status: A multicenter study

Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, 2016
To determine the relationship between glycated albumin (GA) and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and to explore the association of glycated albumin/glycated hemoglobin (GA/HbA1c) ratio with glucose indices in Chinese subjects with varying glucose tolerance status. This hospital-based, cross-sectional study involved 953 participants without known diabetes ...

A Multimodal Intervention for Reducing Unnecessary Repeat Glycated Hemoglobin Testing

Canadian Journal of Diabetes, 2023
Reducing unnecessary tests that do not enhance quality can promote health-care value. Glycated hemoglobin (A1C) is often ordered at a frequency exceeding the recommendation of once every 3 months. We conducted a quality improvement (QI) initiative aimed to reduce unnecessary repeat testing by 75% at a tertiary care academic hospital.A retrospective ...

Glycated Hemoglobin as a Measure of Physiological Stress

Behavioral Medicine, 1988
The concentration of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is an integrated expression of the blood glucose concentration level in the previous weeks. The levels of HbA1c were measured in 23 medical students who had to pass an examination within a few weeks. Twelve other students served as a control group. Four months later, the blood tests were repeated.
